Rio Devore is a singer-songwriter who lives in Seattle, WA. He has released music through several names and projects throughout his younger years, but his first solo album under his Christian name, Rio Devore. “Learning to Laugh at the Sad Parts” was produced and recorded in 2017 by Joshua James. Rio toured the West Coast after its release and eventually relocated from his hometown in Southern California to Seattle where he continued to play shows in Washington. Lockdown offered perspective and Rio released an EP in January 2022, “Forgotten Songs of an Infamous Year”. Currently, Rio is working with Joshua James and music engineer Brian Zieske to make a new album. Rio’s music has been compared to Conor Oberst from Bright Eyes, The Mountain Goats, The National, and Craig Finn from The Hold Steady. Lyrically driven, poetic storytelling, with a bittersweet sorrowful hopefulness.
