***CHRIS SLOAN AND THE DIRTY BIRDS***
chrissloanmusic.com

Chris Sloan is a singer-songwriter located in Seattle, Washington, with attention-grabbing, raspy vocals. Sloan has been the lead singer of several bands, including Mercy Parker, Mudsill Widows (Alongside Ben Smith, the drummer from rock and roll hall of fame band Heart), and SideDown, performing on stages since he was 18. Sloan is incredibly excited to release his first solo EP, Into The Shade, written and recorded at the legendary Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, WA. His first track “Where Do I Stand” is your harmonious, break-up song with an incredibly catchy vocal melody you’ll be singing for weeks.

Sloan also recently recorded his music video and a new live version of single “These Walls” at the famous London Bridge Studios in Seattle, WA. “These Walls” is the second song off the EP, dropping November 11th. Sloan’s unique gritty voice sets him apart not only as an artist but as a polished singer and songwriter as well. His songs stretch across genres from acoustic, indie, pop, and alternative mixed with a bit of rock.

What happens when you pull a thread? Those who’ve sought the answer know the glee of the seam ripping open, the stuffing falling out and then the surprise of that which is broken now resting at your feet. What if this moment had a soundtrack? A melody like that string, rhythms like cloth and cotton. And a demise as obvious as that of a broken relationship or belief system. This is the music Seattle-based songwriter and performer, Brittany Danielle brings to the world.
With songs that sound like Top 40 hits but read like tarot cards, Danielle, who has been playing piano since 8-years-old and boasts a graduate degree in music, creates compositions that touch opposite sides of the spectrum. On Danielle’s debut LP, which she will unveil in 2022, many of the tracks were born from the pandemic and the song exercises that kept her sane throughout. Woven together with truths about her mental health (and its own unraveling), the songs represent growth, new connections.
Danielle, who has played in popular bands in Seattle like Purr Gato, graced stages like The Tractor Tavern and those abroad in cities as far away as Germany, has worked in children’s theater and performed in musicals, too. She’s a quilt of experience held with uneasy stitching. At times her songs sound like a stroll down a city street, others like the corners of your consciousness. Standouts include the unburdening, “Hindsight,” and sauntering, “Nothing.” But don’t fret. In the end, of course, she’s got the world dancing on a line.

‘Rugged and beautiful’

Seattle rock group Moroccan Dog is just as quick to pull you up out of your seat as to put you in your feelings. Since the release of their self-titled debut EP in summer 2021, the grungey three-piece has been taking listeners on a journey that’s epic in scale but deeply personal, with a brooding sweetness that could have only come from Seattle. The music doesn’t just capture your attention — it demands it.

"The songs are rugged and beautiful,” says South Sound Talk. “They weep and shatter. They're inspired."

Moroccan Dog first came together in 2017 for an impromptu show at their high school’s battle of the bands. With less than a week of practice, the trio sucked and lost, but the performance sparked something. The one-time project soon became a band, and found themselves booking shows across Seattle.

Like the bed of roses that anchors their latest music video, Moroccan Dog just can’t stop growing. Singer and guitarist Callan Spafford, bassist Nate Sanford and drummer Alex Alajbegović have spent the past year packing house shows and iconic local venues like Cafe Racer, Barboza and the newly renovated Crocodile.
